FABRIC OF LIFE
GROUP EXHIBITION OCT 2024 - JAN 2025
LONDON
Fabric of Life focuses on the power of textiles to reveal deep psychological narratives and explore a wide range of themes that carry personal, social, political and cultural histories
Throughout human history, textiles have played a key role in the cultural traditions and practices of societies around the world. Textiles have been used to communicate social status, convey important cultural messages, and express artistic and creative visions. The title of the exhibition suggests that just as a fabric is made up of many individual threads woven together, so too is the web of life made up of countless interconnected communities and systems, all working together to create a vibrant and diverse world.
Featuring 28 artists from fifteen countries and five continents, including work specially created for the exhibition, uniting international and inter-generational artists whose practices employ a variety of techniques such as weaving, embroidery, dyeing, sewing, quilting, collage, digital and painting. By reclaiming traditional techniques and using them to create works of art, the artists continue to blur the boundaries between craft and fine art, revealing the symbolic power of textiles and their potential for individual and cultural transformation.

TETE A TETE
GROUP EXHIBITION MAY - JULY 2024
ROME
Tête-à-tête explores the fascinating world of artist couples where love, life and art fuse ignited by a shared passion for each other and for their work.
The exhibition brings together eight internationally acclaimed contemporary artist couples, featuring an array of multi-disciplinary work, including photography, textiles, sculpture, painting and digital art. As the title which refers to the French expression “head to head’ suggests, the exhibition offers a rare glimpse into the dynamics behind artist relationships, revealed through intimate conversations with them.
The works are displayed in dialogue with each other, to explore how the creative interplay between these couples has impacted their practices, whether working individually or in collaboration. In an ever evolving cultural landscape these modern day duos navigate the complexities of relationships while simultaneously pushing the boundaries of artistic expression in the 21st century .

PHILIP COLBERT
SOLO PUBLIC SCULPTURE | MUSEUM TOUR
ROME | TREVISO | NAPLES
OCTOBER 2022 - MAY 2024
A groundbreaking "take-over" of Rome, Philip Colbert's sculptures on display on the iconic Via Veneto and Porta Pinciana, gate of the Aurelian Walls, together with a solo exhibition at the museum of San Salvatore in Lauro. Touring to Treviso Municipal Park, the Piazza of Largo San Martino and National Archeological Museum, Naples.

MUNICIPIO ROMA I CENTRO
The Municipality of Rome and Cultural Heritage Department in collaboration with Bam srl are delighted to announce a major solo presentation of sculptures by Philip Colbert. Colbert's iconic lobster sculptures will be the protagonists of the Eternal City. The exhibition ‘The Lobster Empire’ will run from 6 October 2022 to 8 January 2023, featuring twelve iconic sculptures that will animate Via Vittorio Veneto, symbol of the Roman Dolce Vita. Gigantic sculptures - in aluminum, bronze or steel - that recall famous artworks "worn" by the lobsters - such as Duchamp's Urinal, Van Gogh's Sunflowers or Damien Hirst's Shark - that cheekily engage with the history of ancient and modern art and with the urban context. Among these, the largest sculpture will be exhibited for the first time, the Lobster King, six meters high, which will greet his followers with his royal crown and raised claws.
ARTIST
Philip Colbert (Scottish, 1979) is a London-based multidisciplinary artist known for his Neo-Pop Surrealism and his cartoon lobster character. Often referred to as the “godson of Andy Warhol,” his practice evokes the style of his Pop art forebears such as Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein, while also paying homage to other influential figures across the Western art historical canon including Post-Impressionist Vincent van Gogh, Baroque artist Anthony Van Dyck, Conceptual Marcel Duchamp and contemporary artists Yayoi Kusama and George Condo to name a few.
Exhibitions in Rome and Naples accompanied by two fully illustrated hard back catalogues featuring texts by Catherine Loewe.

"The dialogue between what has been in the past and what is in the present must be carried on so that the city is not seen only as a monument to be admired, but as a living, useful territory that makes all those who inhabit or visit feel good about it.”
Councillor for Culture of the I Municipio Giulia Silvia Ghia.
