The Directors of Go Modern Ltd and Loewe Contemporary are delighted to announce a group exhibition showcasing the work of UK based artists to be shown at their new HQ at 565 Kings Road, London.

Spirit Level brings together a diverse group of talented artists whose work include sculpture, painting, print and photography to reveal a cross-section of current contemporary art practice and preoccupations.

Holly Chambers works meticulously with ink on paper, Alexander Clarke’s works plays with the notions of printing and pattern, Ben Cove’s multi-disiplinary work is influenced by modernist architecture and social expectations. Robin Friend captures mystery and aesthetics inherent in object and place, Robert Fry’s paintings re-addresses the relationship of artist and subject, Alex Gough’s snowy scenes are linked to notions of the sublime from the abstract to the figurative, Dan McDermott meticulously paints fleeting but familiar imagery from a personal archive of film and TV stills. Joanna Pawlowska’s empty office, warehouse and train stations using porcelain varnish on aluminium await potential drama. Tooney Phillips makes subtle work  informed by both natural rock and architectural structure, Maria Thurn und Taxis colourfully address charged themes from the mass media.
